Creating a radio button

Radio buttons allow for mutually exclusive choices, where the user is provided with many choices but only one can be selected at any given time.

1.
From the Standard tab of the Library palette, click and drag a Text box onto the form, positioning the box so that its location is X: 0.5 in. and Y: 4.5 in.

Be certain to use the Text and not the Text Field box. The Text box adds static text onto the page that is not changed by the user of a form and does not require or allow a user to enter any text. This text will serve as the label for the radio-button choices the form user will select.

2.
Double-click to select the default text in the text frame you added to the form in the previous step. In the toolbars at the top of the window, change the font to Myriad Pro Black, and change the font size to 11 point. Keep the text selected and enter the text Age Group.

Note

You can also change the text attributes, including font and size, using the Font palette, which is available by choosing Window > Font.

3.
From the Standard tab of the Library palette, click and drag a Radio Button onto the form, placing it adjacent to the Age Group field, at the position of X: 1.5 in. and Y: 4.5 in.

4.
Click and drag to select the Radio Button text and enter the text 18-25.
