Edit Transactions

Unlike some other financial programs, Quicken allows you to make changes to transactions at any time, if you make a mistake in data entry. You can edit, delete, or void transactions whenever necessary.

To edit a transaction, open the account register that contains the transaction. Click the transaction in the register to select it, then in any field of the transaction select the incorrect information and type over it to replace it. Click Enter (Record) to save the changed transaction.

To delete a transaction, click on the transaction to select it, then choose Edit > Transaction > Delete (Edit > Delete Transaction). Quicken will ask you to confirm the deletion. Click Yes to delete the transaction.

To void a transaction, click anywhere in the transaction to select it, then choose Edit > Transaction > Void Transaction (Edit > Void Transaction). Quicken places the word VOID at the beginning of the Payee field. Click Enter (Record) to save the transaction. Quicken removes the amount in the Payment or Deposit field and recalculates the account balance.
