Use Web Connect

If your financial institution supports the Direct Connect connection method to download transactions, you should always use that, as it is more convenient than Web Connect. But some institutions only support Web Connect, which uses a Web browser to connect to the financial institution’s Web site, where you can then download a file containing your transactions. You then import the downloaded file into Quicken. On Windows, Quicken uses an embedded version of Internet Explorer to connect to the financial institution’s Web site. On the Mac, you can use Safari or Internet Explorer. To use Web Connect for the first time, you will need to obtain a welcome kit from your financial institution, which will include a user ID and PIN.
