Chapter 13. Reading and Managing Articles

Internet newsgroups are like computerized public bulletin boards. There are tens of thousands of newsgroups on the Internet, each focused on a particular topic. Articles—resembling email messages—are posted to newsgroups. Anyone with access to the newsgroup can read them.

If you're like most people, you'll spend much of your time in the news section of Entourage in an endless cycle of clicking headers, waiting for the message text to download to your Mac, and reading. But you must take a few preparatory steps before launching into this routine. You must create an account for each news server you want to use and then subscribe to newsgroups carried by the server or servers.
