To set default synchronization options for the Address Book

To set default synchronization options for the Address Book

1.
Perform Steps 1–5 of the previous step list.

2.
In the Entourage Conduit Settings dialog box (see Figure E.3), click the Settings button for Address Book.

The Address Book Settings dialog box appears (Figure E.4).

3.
You can synchronize all or only a subset of your contacts (based on an assigned Entourage category). Select one of the following options:

  • Synchronize all contacts. Include all contacts in each synchronization, regardless of the categories assigned to the contacts.

  • Synchronize contacts in category. Synchronize only those contacts who have been assigned the specified category.

  • Synchronize contacts not in category. Synchronize only those contacts who have not been assigned the specified category.

4.
Contacts on the Palm can have only one address: work or home. Indicate whether newly created contact records on the Palm will contain a person's work address or home address by clicking the appropriate radio button.

5.
Although you can define up to 10 custom fields in Entourage's Address Book, the Palm's Address program supports only four such fields. Choose Entourage custom fields from the pop-up menus to indicate how you want them to map between the two programs.

6.
If you want the Entourage custom field names to replace the Palm custom field names, click the check box at the bottom of the dialog box.

7.
Click OK to save the revised Address Book settings.

You are returned to the Entourage Conduit Settings window.

8.
Click OK again to dismiss the window and save your changes.

The chosen settings will be used in all future synchronizations.
