Email Addresses

Regardless of the type of account you have, every email account is identified by a unique address, such as jpt417@msn.com or bobp@linetop.net. The address consists of three parts: a user name, the @ symbol, and a domain name (Figure 9.4). When you create the account, you normally get to choose your user name. The domain name is simply the name of the company or organization that is providing access to the Internet.
