Chapter 9. Email Essentials

Even if you're new to the Internet, you've undoubtedly heard the term email bandied about. Email (short for electronic mail) is a text message or note sent from one person's Internet account to another's. With most Internet accounts, you must have a computer program known as an email client to compose and send messages (Figure 9.1), as well as to receive and read messages from others. Because Entourage is capable of sending and receiving email, as well as tracking newsgroups, it can serve as your email client and your newsgroup reader.
