Chapter 10. Composing and Sending Email

When you send a message, you indicate the intended recipient by specifying his or her email address. Every email address is unique.

An email address (Figure 10.1) has two parts: a user name and a domain name (the service with which the person has an account). The domain might be an Internet service provider (earthlink.net), a company (microsoft.com), an information service (aol.com), or an educational institution (hnrc.tufts.edu).
