Chapter 26. Using Programs Together > Combining Word and PowerPoint

Combining Word and PowerPoint

You can use Word and PowerPoint together, too. This section covers importing outlines from one application to the other.

To use a Word outline file in a PowerPoint presentation

1.
Open or create a presentation outline in Word (Figure 26.14).

Figure 26.14. A presentation outline created in Word.

Each Heading 1 paragraph will become the title of a new slide. Heading 2 paragraphs will become first-level text.

2.
Choose File > Send To > Microsoft PowerPoint.

PowerPoint launches and the Word outline appears as a new presentation (Figure 26.15). No link is maintained to the original Word outline.

3.
Apply a slide design and other formatting to the new presentation.
