Chapter 19. The Presentation > Rehearsing a Presentation

Rehearsing a Presentation

It's always a good idea to rehearse a presentation, especially if there's a time limit. When you've finished assembling the presentation, you can rehearse it and time how long each slide must remain onscreen.

To rehearse the presentation

1.
Choose Slide Show > Rehearse Timings or click the Rehearse Timings toolbar icon.

The first slide in the presentation appears. A timer is in the bottom-right corner (Figure 19.18).

2.
Perform the presentation exactly as you would in front of the audience.

3.
Click the mouse, press , or press to advance from one action to the next within a slide, as well as to move from slide to slide.

4.
At the end of the slide show, a dialog box appears, showing the presentation's total time (Figure 19.19). Click Yes or No to indicate whether you want to record the time for each slide (for later use in playing the slide show on automatic).

5.
If you click Yes, a second dialog box appears (Figure 19.20). Click Yes if you'd like to switch to Slide Sorter View to review the slide timings.
