Creating Handouts and Speaker Notes

From within PowerPoint, you can prepare handouts (slide printouts to give to the audience) and speaker notes to assist you during the presentation.

To create handouts

1.
Choose View > Master > Handout Master.

The Handout Master appears (Figure 19.14).

Figure 19.14. On the Handout Master, you can specify the number of slides per page and optionally edit the header and footer.

Click an icon on the Handout Master toolbar to indicate the number of slides per page that you want to display.

Optional: Edit the header or footer text.

Click the Close icon on the toolbar.

Choose File > Print.

From the Print What drop-down menu in the Print dialog box (Figure 19.15), choose Handouts (x slides per page). Review the remaining settings.

View a preview of the handout pages in the Quick Preview box. What's shown reflects the current print settings.

7.
Click Print to print the handouts on the specified printer, or click Save as PDF to create an Adobe Acrobat file that you can view in Apple's Preview program or Adobe Reader.
