Publishing Excel Data on the Web

Excel makes it easy to save workbooks or worksheets for display on the Web. One advantage of publishing in this manner is that those who only need to view the contents don't need Excel to open the file. All they need is a browser. You can also preview any Excel file as it will look saved as a Web page.

To preview a file's Web appearance

1.
Open the workbook in Excel (Figure 16.1).

Choose File > Web Page Preview.

The active worksheet opens in your Web browser as it would appear on the Web (Figure 16.2).

Figure 16.2. When you choose Web Page Preview, a temporary HTML file is created and opens in your default browser.
