Catalogs, Menus, and Newsletters

Catalogs, menus, and newsletters are fun to make because you can really use your creativity. Word simplifies the process by providing wizards for creating these kinds of documents. (See Chapter 1 for more information about wizards and templates. Refer to Chapter 6 for help with adding and working with graphics.)

To create a catalog, menu, or newsletter

1.
Open the Project Gallery by choosing File > Project Gallery ().

In the Category list, select Newsletters or select Catalogs or Menus from the Menus & Catalogs topic.

Select a template for the catalog, menu, or newsletter, and then click OK.

The Catalog, Menu, or Newsletter Wizard appears, as appropriate.

Enter your information in the wizard:

  • In the Menu Wizard, enter the name and address of the restaurant and its hours of operation (Figure 8.11). Pick a color scheme on the Theme tab.

  • In the Newsletter Wizard, enter the title, address, and layout information. Select a font theme and color scheme on the Theme tab (Figure 8.12).

  • In the Catalog Wizard, enter the title and number of pages, specify the contents of each page on the Layout tab (Figure 8.13), and select a font theme and color scheme on the Theme tab.

5.
Click Save and Exit.

Your data and settings are transferred to the Word document. Replace the text and graphic placeholders with your material.
