Chapter 25. Internet Newsgroups

Internet newsgroups (sometimes called Usenet newsgroups) are like computerized public bulletin boards. There are tens of thousands of newsgroups on the Internet, each focused on a particular topic. Messages—resembling email messages—are posted to newsgroups. Anyone with access to the newsgroup can read them. If you respond to a message you've read, your reply is posted along with it. Some newsgroups include binaries (files associated with messages, similar to email attachments) that you can download.
