Auditing a Worksheet

To avoid erroneous results from incorrect formulas, Excel supplies a comprehensive set of auditing commands. By selecting a cell and then choosing the appropriate command, you can locate the following in a worksheet:

  • Precedents. Locate all cells that provide data to the currently selected formula.

  • Dependents. Locate all formulas that draw data from the currently selected cell.

  • Errors. To identify the source of an error (such as #N/A), you can locate all cells that provide data to the selected formula.
