Customizing and Setting Preferences

Although the Office applications are pre-configured in a way that will suit the average user's needs, you're free to customize them, if you wish. There are two ways to do this:

  • Modify the settings in the application's Preferences dialog box (available in all Office applications).

  • Customize the application's toolbars, menus, Formatting Palette, and keyboard shortcuts (available in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
