Undoing Actions

If you make a mistake while working on a document, you can frequently correct it by undoing the action. You can either choose the Edit > Undo command or click the Undo toolbar icon (if available). Office 2004 programs support unlimited Undos.

To undo one or more actions

1.
To undo your most recent action, you can do any of the following:

  • Choose Edit > Undo action name.

  • Press .

  • Click the Undo icon on the Standard toolbar (Figure 1.40).

To undo multiple recent actions, you can do any of the following:

  • Repeatedly choose Edit > Undo action name, press , or click the Undo toolbar icon.

  • Click the down arrow beside the Undo toolbar icon and select the actions that you want to correct (Figure 1.41).

In order from most to least recent, each action is undone.

To reverse the effect of one or more Undo commands, do any of the following:

  • Choose Edit > Redo.

  • Press .

  • Click the Redo toolbar icon (see Figure 1.40).

  • Click the down arrow beside the Redo toolbar icon and choose the number of actions you want to redo (see Figure 1.41).
