Managing Mailing Lists

Internet mailing lists allow people with a common interest to connect. They provide subscribers with an email-based forum for conducting discussions, asking questions, and sharing experiences. When you're a member of a mailing list, you receive copies of all messages sent to the list. And when you post a message, everyone who subscribes to the list will receive a copy of your message. Entourage provides a Mailing List Manager to handle your mailing list messages.

To manage a mailing list subscription

1.
Choose Tools > Mailing List Manager.

The Mailing List Manager dialog box appears (Figure 20.33).

Click the New toolbar icon.

The Edit Mailing List Rule dialog box appears (Figure 20.34).

Enter a name for the mailing list, type or paste the list address, and indicate what should be done with messages from and to the list.

Optional: Review the options on the Advanced tab and make any desired changes.

5.
Click OK.

The new mailing list is recorded in the Mailing List Manager dialog box.
