Chapter 20. Email > Forwarding or Redirecting

Forwarding or Redirecting

If you receive mail that you want to send to others, you can forward or redirect it. When you forward mail, you can add your own comments, the recipients see a message that came from you, and any replies will go to you.

If you redirect email, on the other hand, you cannot alter or add to the message, the email appears to have come from the original sender, and any replies go to that sender. (As a result, redirection is generally used only to pass on email that was mistakenly sent to you or when there's a more suitable recipient.)
