Chapter 20. Email > Sending Attachments

Sending Attachments

In addition to sending text messages, you can optionally attach one or more files to any email message. The files can be any type, such as pictures, word processing documents, or even applications. When sent with email, these files are referred to as attachments.

To attach a file to an email message

1.
Click the triangle beside the word Attachments (between the Subject field and the message body) to open the Attachments pane (Figure 20.10).

2.
Do one of the following:

  • Click the Add button. In the Choose Attachment dialog box that appears, select a file and click Choose.

  • Drag a file's icon into the Attachments pane.

3.
Click the bar beneath the Attachments pane to open the Attachments options window (Figure 20.11). Set Encode for to Any computer (AppleDouble), unless you're sure the recipient requires another setting. If the attachments are large, you may also want to compress them.
