Chapter 7. Creating Tables > Deleting Cells

Deleting Cells

You can easily remove cells from a table. You can delete an entire table, full rows or columns, or only selected cells.

To delete table cells

  • Do any of the following:

    • To delete an entire table, click any cell and choose Table > Delete > Table.

    • To delete entire rows or columns, select one or more cells from the row(s) or column(s), and then choose Table > Delete > Rows or Table > Delete > Columns.

    • To delete specific cells in a table, select the cells and choose Table > Delete > Cells. The Delete Cells dialog box appears (Figure 7.19). You can delete entire rows or columns. Or you can delete only the selected cells, moving the rest up or to the left (to close up the deletion).

Figure 7.19. In the Delete Cells dialog box, indicate how to adjust the remaining cells after the deletion.
