Chapter 21. Address Book > Electronic Business Cards (vCards)

Electronic Business Cards (vCards)

You may occasionally receive electronic business cards (vCards) as attachments to email. You can recognize them by the .vcf filename extension. Entourage can read and create new contact records from vCards. You can also email contact records to others as vCard attachments.

To add a received vCard to the Address Book

1.
Select the message header in the message list. If necessary, click the Attachments triangle to open the Attachments pane and display the vCard attachment (Figure 21.14).

Figure 21.14. A vCard (.vcf) attachment in an incoming message will be listed in the Attachments pane like any other attachment.

2.
Double-click the vCard attachment.

A new contact record containing the vCard information opens.

3.
Make any necessary changes to the contact data and click the Save toolbar icon.

The vCard is added to your Address Book as a new contact record.
