Chapter Four. Collaborating, Repurposing, and Proofing

Once you've properly created PDF files, the fun can begin. Acrobat offers numerous tools to facilitate creative workflows before you send files to prepress: You can use them for tasks ranging from simple text touch-ups to sharing comments through a Web server or soft- or hard-proofing using ICC color management. This chapter provides an overview of these varied and useful tools, and shows you how to use them to streamline creative group processes such as editing and proofing cycles.

Note that I will not walk you through Acrobat's entire interface and work area. Instead, I'll assume you have some knowledge of the basics (how to navigate pages, manage toolbars, find hidden tools, and so on). If you're a complete novice, consult the Acrobat manual—a PDF file, not coincidentally, available from the Help menu.
