Chapter 6. Structuring PDF Documents > Changing Open Options

Changing Open Options

By default, both Acrobat and Acrobat Reader open PDF files to the first page and at the Fit in Window zoom level. At times, however, you want a document to open to a different page or at a different zoom level.

To change the way that files open:

1.
Choose File > Document Properties > Open Options.

The Document Open Options dialog box appears (Figure 6.2).

Figure 6.2. The Document Open Options dialog box lets you choose how to open your documents.

2.
Make changes in the opening-page options.

You can specify the page on which the document will open and what page elements will be visible.

3.
Click OK.

4.
Save the document by choosing Save from the File menu (Ctrl+S/Command-S).

The changes will appear the next time you open the document in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.
