Checking Security Settings

Checking Security Settings

After you open a locked document, you can check the security settings that the author of the document specified for the file. These settings let you know how much you're free to do with the file.

To check the security settings of a file:

1.
Open the document for which you want to check security.

2.
Choose Document Security from the File menu.

The Document Security dialog box appears.

3.
Click the Display Settings button to display all the options that are set for the open document.

The options are different for Standard and Self-Sign Security (Figures B.8 and B.9).
