Optimizing PDF Files for Online Viewing

For a Web server to deliver a PDF one page at a time, the PDF must be optimized first. In previous versions of Acrobat, you optimized a file by choosing an option at the time you saved it. Acrobat 5.0 lets you set optimization as the default behavior.

The process of displaying one page at a time is called byte-serving. For byte-serving to work, the PDF files need to be optimized when they are saved.
