Chapter 15. PDF Files and the Web > Editing PDFs Online

Editing PDFs Online

Just as you normally edit PDFs with Acrobat, you can also edit PDFs within a Web browser. This is especially useful in collaborative work situations, because several different people can add comments to the same document, and see each others' comments as well.

Be aware, however, that you can't edit just any old PDF that your browser displays. The PDF must be hosted on a server, and the configuration of such servers is beyond the scope of this book. Consult your network technician if you need to set up PDFs for online editing, and refer to the document OnlineComments.pdf, which you'll find on the Acrobat 5.0 CD, in the Collaboration folder.
