Chapter 14. Automating Acrobat > Setting Batch Preferences

Setting Batch Preferences

Acrobat doesn't offer many batch-processing options, but they can affect how streamlined your work process is, especially depending on which Security Handler option you set.

To set batch preferences:

1.
Choose Edit > Preferences > General.

The General Preferences dialog box opens (Figure 14.19).

Figure 14.19. Preferences for batch processing.

2.
Select Batch Processing in the list on the left side of the dialog box.

You see the Batch Processing options:

  • Show Run Confirmation Dialog shows you the progress of the batch processing.

  • Save Warnings and Errors in Log File saves a record of all the recorded warnings and errors.

  • Security Handler determines what Acrobat does when it encounters a document that requires a password for opening it. If this option is set to Do Not Ask for Password, batch processing stops when Acrobat encounters a document with password protection. If the option is set to Acrobat Standard Security, Acrobat asks for a password that will open all the documents in the selected folder. If this option is set to Acrobat Self-Sign Security, Acrobat will not allow a sequence to run unless a user logs in with the credentials of an existing digital-signature profile.

3.
Make any changes, and click OK.
