Chapter 14. Automating Acrobat

Chapter 14. Automating Acrobat

Much of the work involved in creating and editing PDFs and preparing them for distribution is repetitive; you find yourself performing the same series of steps over and over. Also, you often need to run the same operation on several PDFs at the same time. Acrobat helps relieve the tedium of repeating yourself by allowing you to automate certain procedures.

Batch processing allows you to, say, print the first page of each of a folder of PDFs. It also lets you combine several commands into a single step. Further, Acrobat includes a function called PDF Consultant, which checks your PDF automatically to make sure that it's structured as efficiently as possible.
