Chapter 10. Annotating PDFs > Creating a File-Attachment Annotation

Creating a File-Attachment Annotation

File-attachment annotations are files that are attached to a PDF document. These annotations could be any type of file, such as an image, a spreadsheet, or even another PDF file. In some cases, you might want to attach the non-PDF source file to the PDF document.

To attach a file to a document:

1.
With a document open, choose the File Attachment tool (Shift-S) (Figure 10.36).

Figure 10.36. The File Attachment tool (below the Stamp tool) allows you to attach files of any format to your PDF.

2.
Click in the PDF document where you'd like to attach the file.

The Open dialog box appears.

3.
Choose the file you want to attach to the PDF document, and click the Select button.

The File Attachment Properties dialog box appears (Figure 10.37).

4.
In the Appearance list, select the icon you would like to use.

5.
Type any description in the Description text box.

6.
Click OK.

The file is attached to the document.
