Chapter 10. Annotating PDFs > Filtering Annotations

Filtering Annotations

When several people have marked up a document, it can be hard to determine which annotations are relevant to you. Acrobat provides a filtering mechanism that displays only the annotations that you need to see.

To filter out unneeded annotations:

1.
Choose Tools > Comments > Filter.

The Filter Comments dialog box appears (Figure 10.49), listing the people who have added comments to the document and the types of comments they used.

Figure 10.49. The Filter Comments dialog box displays all the annotations that have been added to a PDF.

2.
In the By Author list box, uncheck the check boxes next to the names of the people whose annotations you don't want to view.

3.
In the Of Type list box, uncheck the check boxes next to the types of annotations you don't want to view.

4.
Click OK.

Only the annotations you want to view are displayed in the document.
