Chapter 9. Adding Multimedia to PDFs > Adding Sounds or Movies to PDFs

Adding Sounds or Movies to PDFs

Sounds, whether they are music or recorded explanations that enhance the viewer's understanding of a document, can add greatly to the viewer's experience. A movie can illustrate a procedure for instructional purposes or merely amuse the viewer. You can use the Link tool to create a button or rollover area, as described earlier in this chapter, or to add multimedia clips to a PDF. You also can use the Movie tool to define a clickable area that triggers the playing of the clip.

To add a multimedia clip with the Movie tool:

1.
In an open PDF document, choose the Movie tool (M) from the Editing toolbar.

2.
Drag a marquee where you want to create the clickable area, or hot spot.

When you release the mouse button, the Movie Properties dialog box appears (Figure 9.19).
