Multimedia was indeed the overused catchword of the '90s. A few years ago, you needed a doctorate in Director to create anything remotely akin to multimedia. Now fewer and fewer people are using that bloated, unfriendly software, because they're using Acrobat to accomplish the same things.

Acrobat provides a simple way for you to add buttons, movies, sounds, and other multimedia components to PDF files. You can create multimedia elements in any program, from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator, and include them in your PDF documents.
