Chapter 2. Acrobat Reader in Depth > Reading Annotations

Reading Annotations

With Acrobat, annotations can be added when editing a PDF document. Annotations can be simple text notes, but they can also be file attachments, sound files, or even movie clips. Acrobat Reader, however, can open or play only text notes and movie clips.

To read Acrobat notes in Reader:

1.
Locate the note that you wish to read on a PDF document. These notes resemble tiny document icons (Figure 2.17).

Figure 2.17. Notes appear as little document icons on a PDF page.

2.
Double-click the note to display all of its text (Figure 2.18), including when and by whom it was written.

Figure 2.18. Double-clicking on the note icon displays its contents. Clicking the close box on the expanded note collapses it back to an icon.

3.
To close an expanded note, click the close box located in its upper left corner. The note will collapse back to an icon.
