Opening a PDF File

The first step in reading any document is to open it. This procedure is pretty much the same in Acrobat Reader as in other standard applications.

To open an existing PDF file:

  • Choose Open from the File menu (Ctrl+O/Command-O), then select your PDF document and click the Open button (Figure 1.65).

    or

    Double-click the PDF file's icon in Windows Explorer or the Macintosh Finder (Figure 1.66).

    or

    Drag the PDF file's icon on top of the Acrobat Reader icon on your desktop.
