Downloading Acrobat Reader

Most people download the free Acrobat Reader program so they can view the many PDF (Portable Document Format) files available on the World Wide Web. Most Web sites that include PDF files also provide a link to download Reader, but you can always find it on Adobe's Web site.

To download Acrobat Reader from Adobe's Web site:

Using your Web browser, go to the Adobe Web site (www.adobe.com).

On the home page, click the Get Acrobat Reader button; you may have to scroll down to find it (Figure 1.1).

From the Download page, click the Get Acrobat Reader link (Figure 1.2).

Following the steps provided on the site, choose your language, platform, and location; then click the Download button (Figure 1.3).

Once the file has finished downloading, your browser will automatically decompress it (Macintosh only) and you'll see the Acrobat Reader Installer icon on your desktop (Figure 1.4).
