The Problem

A publishing company had decided to pilot-test a few sales programs. Certain key cities were selected, and presentations were made to key customers. The salespeople ended their presentations by asking the customers to grade the sales programs. A grade could be an A, B, C, or D.

Results were sent to headquarters, where they were combined into one large XML file. Management has requested a graphical summary of the results, broken out by program, region, and city. This will yield numerous charts. The problem is that tallying the data and creating the charts by hand takes too long. An automated solution is needed.
