Summary

Access programmatic functionality generally falls into two camps: ADO/SQL for user interaction and VBA/object model manipulation during development and application enhancements. This is not a fixed division; certainly these distinctive uses overlap. However, it is rare that once in production, user activities are going to create or change the structure of forms or reports.

This chapter presented examples of manipulating forms, reports, and modules by interacting with the respective Forms, Reports, and Modules collections. Tables do not have a similar collection. There is no Access object collection that contains open tables. This functionality is achieved via ADO. In other words, tables are data-centric and are appropriately handled with a technology such as ADO that is intended for data access.
