Chapter 4. Access Solution Development > Objects, Properties, and Methods

Objects, Properties, and Methods

The Database Window

When Access is started up, users have two options: to work on an existing database or to start a new one. If the user chooses to work on a new database, the first action required is to save it. This workflow directly contrasts with the start-up procedure of the other Office products, in which users can immediately start to work and then save or discard their work later.

Once a name and directory are selected and the database is saved, the Database window is available. See Figure 4.2.
