Lesson 13. Distributing Document Collections

Lesson 13. Distributing Document Collections

Platform independence and small file sizes make Adobe PDF an attractive format in which to distribute your documents on the Web, an intranet, or a CD. You'll put the finishing touches on a collection of documents—including adding a linked Welcome document and indexing the document collection—to finalize them for electronic distribution.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to do the following:

  • Examine the issues associated with distributing PDF documents.

  • Compare image quality and file size between PDF documents.

  • Add links to a Welcome document.

  • Add document properties information to a PDF document.

  • Set an opening view for a collection of documents using the Batch Processing command.

  • Index a document collection with Acrobat® Catalog.

  • Examine a Web server administrator's checklist.

This lesson will take about 45 minutes to complete.

If needed, remove the previous lesson folder from your hard drive, and copy the Lesson13 folder onto it.
