Lesson 10. Designing Online Documents

Lesson 10. Designing Online Documents

You can greatly improve the usability of online documents by using a page size customized for on-screen viewing, adding buttons and links to help your users navigate through the documents, setting an uncluttered opening view, and chunking the content for easy readability.

In this lesson, you'll review successful online designs and learn how to do the following:

  • Choose a page size for an online document.

  • Add buttons and links to help the user navigate through the document.

  • Add a link to a Web site.

  • Change the formatting and color of text in a document.

  • Set an opening view that gives the user an uncluttered screen.

This lesson will take about 45 minutes to complete.

If needed, remove the previous lesson folder from your hard drive, and copy the Lesson10 folder onto it.

Note

Windows users need to unlock the lesson files before using them. For information, see “Copying the Classroom in a Book files” on page 3.
