Chapter 10. Working With Lists > Formatting a List

Formatting a List

Once you've created the list contents (or at least have a good start on them), you may want to change the format of the list. In addition to the standard capabilities you have when selecting a cell, group of cells, column(s), or row(s) (such as bold, italic, font, size, borders, and shading), you can also choose from a wide selection of list formats that Microsoft provides.

To format an entire list:

1.
Pull up the List pop-up menu from the List toolbar, and choose AutoFormat (Figure 10.13).

2.
The AutoFormat dialog box appears (Figure 10.14). Click any of the Table format choices in the left pane to see a preview in the right pane of the format applied to your list.

3.
When you have selected a format, click OK.

4.
To get the full effect of your list's new appearance, click the Visuals button in the List toolbar to turn off the list frame graphics (Figure 10.15).
