Sharing Workbooks on a Network

If you have a network available, your network administrator should be able to tell you how to access the file servers for the purpose of saving documents to be shared. In this section we'll cover the steps necessary to allow multiple people to edit the same workbook, regardless of where it's stored.

To set up a workbook for multiple users:

Choose Tools > Share Workbook (Figure 17.9).

In the Share Workbook box dialog, under the Editing tab, check the box to select Allow changes by more than one user at the same time (Figure 17.10).

Under the Advanced tab (Figure 17.11) you can set options for managing the changes made by multiple users.
