Rehearsing the Presentation

It's always a good idea to rehearse your presentation, especially if you will be restricted by time. When you've finished assembling the presentation, you can play the slide show and time how long it takes to go through each slide.

To rehearse the presentation:

1.
Open your presentation, and from the Slide Show menu select Rehearse Timings (Figure 22.29).

The first slide in the presentation appears onscreen, with a timer in the bottom-right corner (Figure 22.30).

2.
Perform the presentation as you would if you were in front of the audience, and take note of the time.

Press the right arrow key to move from slide to slide.

Move the pointer to the bottom left of the screen to display the Slide Show pop-up menu, and select Next (Figure 22.31).

When you are finished going through the presentation, click the screen or select End Show from the pop-up menu at the bottom right of the screen.

A Microsoft PowerPoint dialog box appears.

Click Yes or No in the dialog box to indicate whether or not you want to record the time for use in future viewings of the slide show (Figure 22.32).
