Working with Large Sheets

You can freeze the column and row headings to keep them from moving off the screen while you scroll through a large worksheet.

To freeze column and row headings:

1.
Click the cell at the upper-left corner of the region that contains the data (Figure 12.20).

Choose Window > Freeze Panes (Figure 12.21).

Lines appear in the spreadsheet to indicate which areas of the sheet are frozen (Figure 12.22).

In a window that's too small to hold the entire spreadsheet, the row and column headings stay visible regardless of where you scroll horizontally or vertically (Figure 12.23).
