Filling Ranges of Cells

To quickly enter data into a rectangular range of cells, create an entry range.

To type data into a block of cells:

1.
Click in the cell in the upper-left corner of the range (Figure 9.14).

2.
Drag to the range's lower-right-corner cell (Figure 9.15).

The active cell is the one in the entry range's upper-left corner.

3.
Type data into a cell, and then press .

The cell pointer automatically moves down the column to the next cell.

4.
Continue typing data into the cells, pressing e as you go (Figure 9.16).

When the cell pointer reaches the bottom of a column, it jumps to the top of the next column within the entry range (Figure 9.17).
