Formula Basics

To add two numbers in a cell, you could type =23+43, for example. To add the contents of two cells, you include their cell addresses in the formula, such as =B3+B4. The cell into which you type the formula displays the result of the calculation as soon as you move to a different cell (Figure 11.1).
