Chapter 23. E-mail > Forwarding and Redirecting Mail

Forwarding and Redirecting Mail

If you receive mail that you want to send to others, you can choose either to forward or to redirect it. The difference between the two is that when you forward mail, you can add your own comments, and the recipients see a message that came from you; if they reply to it, the reply goes to you. If you redirect it, you cannot alter or add to it, and the message seems to have come from the original sender; if the recipient replies, the reply goes to the original sender.

To forward mail:

1.
With the message selected in the Message List or opened in its own window, click the Forward button at the top of the window (Figure 23.30).

The pointer is placed at the top line of the message body. You may add an introductory note to the body of the message, or edit it any way you wish.

You may also add attachments to forwarded mail.

6.
Send it just as you would original mail.
