Using Databases from Outside Excel

You can import the contents of text files into Excel (see "Bringing In Data from Outside Excel" in Chapter 9). You can also bring in data from databases outside Excel. If the database resides on a computer managed by someone else (common in corporate environments), get the help of the system administrator to set up your access.

Since FileMaker Pro is the most common database on the Mac, Excel has special provisions for easily importing FileMaker Pro databases.
