Chapter 24. Contacts > Adding Contacts

Adding Contacts

You may have been using a different program to manage your address book up to now; Entourage lets you import that information from some of the more popular programs. You can also import from a text file or from the header in an e-mail message you receive, and of course you can add contacts manually.

To import an address book:

1.
Try dragging the address book file directly to the Folder List. If it's in the MBOX format, it will be added to the list and you're done.

2.
If dragging the file doesn't work, choose File > Import (Figure 24.1).

Figure 24.1. Choose File > Import.

3.
The first window of the Import wizard appears (Figure 24.2). If your address book is in one of the listed formats, select the format and follow the remaining instructions in the Import wizard.

If your address book program is not included in the list, use your current address book program to export a text file, if you can. Return to the Import wizard, choose Import information from a text file, and select Import contacts from a tab- or comma-delimited text file.

4.
Navigate to the text file you exported from your original contact program (Figure 24.3).
